Exclusive Anatomical Shape
The Prolite girth's unique shape is designed to bypass areas on the horse's body that are prone to high pressure peaks, ensuring a more even distribution of pressure across the girth's contact points. This helps to minimise discomfort and the risk of pressure-related issues.
NOTE: It is important to note that our design features both a cutaway shape at the horse’s elbow and an anatomically contoured structure. This shaping shifts the girth's underside forward beneath the horse, rather than aligning it directly downward from the saddle flaps. Our girth is uniquely contoured to distribute pressure more evenly across all contact points. Consequently, research findings regarding girth stability and pressure distribution are specific to this design and cannot be generalised to girths lacking this precise anatomical shape
Lined with Prolite
The product is lined with Prolite®, a scientific material renowned for its exceptional ability to disperse pressure, cushion impact, and reduce rubbing. This advanced lining ensures that pressure is spread across a larger surface area, reducing localised stress and minimising discomfort.
Stabilising Panel
The Prolite girth incorporates a rigid material inside that maintains the stability of both the girth and saddle during walk, trot, and canter. This design allows the saddle and girth to move as a unified system with the horse, reducing pressures and enhancing overall stability.
Soft & Breathable Technical Materials
A synthetic leather-look material is used to ensure softness against the skin, allowing the Prolite® edge to "float." This design enables the horse's muscles to move freely underneath, rather than being restricted or impacted by pressure. The combination of the contoured shape and cushioning creates a buffer zone, preventing any "hard" edges from causing discomfort.
Optimised Elasticity
When elastic stretches to its limit, it loses its shape and elasticity. Using a small amount of elastic with minimal stretch (up to 2 cm) can improve comfort without affecting the girth’s performance. This helps reduce pressure during girthing, making horses less sensitive and improving their experience.
Materials
The advanced fabric covering used in this product is designed to keep the surface cool, dry, and breathable. Additionally, it offers antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties for enhanced comfort and skin protection.
